gPhoto 0.4.4 has been released. This is an interim release
of the current stable branch of gPhoto and is meant for:

 * Users that need a working camera driver that is not yet ported
to libgphoto 2.0, the new low-level core library, written from
scratch by Scott Fritzinger, basis of the gPhoto 2.0 platform.

Note: the libgpio and libgphoto2 APIs have not yet been frozen,
so significant changes may still occur, before public versions
are released. See http://www.gphoto.org/gphoto2/ for details.

 * Hackers interested in moving development of gPhoto toward 1.0.

gphoto-0.4.4 is available for download from:

 http://www.gphoto.org/dist/gphoto-0.4.4.tar.gz

The release is incompatible with gphoto 2.0. Software that has not
been explicitly ported will not compile with this version. Do not
send bug reports about such compilation problems to maintainers of
software that uses libgphoto2, such as GnoCam.

gphoto-0.4.4 is currently the stable version.

Bug reports and comments about this version should be sent to

  gphoto-devel@gphoto.org.
